Vegetable Upma recipe
A classic South Indian morning meal, vegetable upma is made with a mixture of vegetables and semolina, also known as rava. It is a quick and simple supper that is full of nutrients.
To improve its flavor, the semolina is first dry-roasted before being cooked in a spicy concoction of water, veggies, and tempering. Usually, mustard seeds, curry leaves, ginger, green chilies, and sometimes cashews for texture are added to the tempering.
Carrots, peas, beans, and capsicum are frequently used vegetables, but you can add your own preferred vegetables. Vegetable upma is a light yet filling dish that tastes good at any time of day. It is flavored with a touch of ghee or oil and topped with fresh coriander and a squeeze of lemon.
